Southern Oregon Boys to Men Community

 

Boys to Men Southern Oregon has come to realize that our program requires community to be the most meaningful.  We can only do so much as men. Mentoring can have a huge impact on a boy, don't get me wrong.  But, it takes a village to raise a child.

We are looking for new ways of including and impacting community.  We welcome your ideas.

As boys and men are touched by the Raven Weekend or the ROPA Weekend, or by the Inner Mentor Trainings, they go back to their homes and friends and they share what they got. Ripples go out from there; to school, work, home, friends.   And it goes the other way too- as  Elders, youth, mothers, fathers, community members, mentor volunteers all bring their gifts to the youth, bringing a wholeness to the community.

We also build an experience of community during our weekend trainings.   Men and boys savor respecting each other, celebrate wisdom and unique gifts, connection to core values and enjoying each other's successes.

We would like to think that everyone is our partner in this effort of showing up for each other.
