Please watch the following trailer of a powerful video called "The Journeyman" about youth who were struggling in their lives and received help from the Boys to Men Rite-of-Passage (ROPA) weekend. Young men don't need to be struggling with gangs or suicide to find our program helpful. We are here to support all young men find their way.
"I participated in the Boys to Men weekend six years ago in Ashland, Oregon. I was 18, old for my group: a furry, bearded giant compared to the 14- and 16-year-old boys I shared the experience with. The age difference didn't really matter. We were all so caught up in the archetypal imagery of Sovereign and Lover, Magician and Warrior. Caught up in coming together to release our pain and turn our wounds to gold. There was so much power in the earth and in my heart on Sunday, when I said goodbye to my brothers. I've participated in Rites of Passage before and since, but none held the intensity of that single weekend.
It was obvious that it changed me. My friends and girlfriend noted it--my parents relished it. The power of coming into the fullness of being in a trial by fire and sword, and yet to be held so gently throughout... that power infused me. It is one of the most wonderful things I've ever done. It set me on a path of growth that I've continued to this day."
